About animal biology

Postby wtwt5237 on Tue Aug 14, 2007 6:29 am

Can anyone tell me why there is animal biology? Animal biology and zoology are roughly the same, but different in some aspects. Who invented animal biology, I really see no point in creating this branch of biology.

It's just terminology, nothing is set in stone.
"What are humans if they don't learn at University? Animals, yes."

^^One of my ex-girlfriends said that. I stress the ex part.

In a lot of these cases, it comes down to restrictions on the naming of courses. "Animal Biology" may transfer more easily as a freshman course than "zoology."
