Every organism is a consumer. We, loosely, envision predators as being carnivores. But many carnivores are solely scavengers. And, I suppose, in the broadest sense, garden snails are predators of our lettuces.

Well, predators must be consumers. But there are different types of predation. Do you have to answer a general question, or is your question centered around a specific animal type?
