legnth of DNA

I've read my textbook and it said that DNA from 3' to 5' is about 1.8-2 metres long....but, what makes me think it over again is...if DNA is that long, so how short is RNA?? because it's said that RNA is much more shorter than DNA... :?

Hi There

Think about what you have asked!

The first completely stretched out estimate of DNA was as you quoted "is over 1m long". Well this doesn't mean that it is under 10 meters, just beacause it is over 1M. And the same goes for 40 Km's. Do some furthur investigating and solve the problem yourself and blow these guys out the water how good would that look on your C.V.
