Background before Bioinformatics

Hi guys,
I'm about to head into my final year of a Bachelors Bioinformatics degree and I'm just wondering the background of people within this field before they got here. I've noticed that a lot of people in this forum are doing PhDs in Bioinformatics or have done so, and I think most of them have a biotech background. I myself, am my computer oriented and it seems with my recent studies, I probably will head towards data mining, knowledge management side of things.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see where people come from (field wise, and geographically if you like), its such a wide field.
