Stress Mechanisms in wheat

Hi. My name is Mehraj Abbasov. I am PhD student in Azerbaijan Genetic Resources İnstitute. I need genetic mechanizm of tolerance to stress in wheat.

Stress... hmm it has a relationship with adrenal... NAAH! It is in wheat, plants do not have adrenal!!! Aww stupid Dr.Stein :oops: :lol:

Seriously, I read about mannitol accumulation mechanism in wheat to increase its tolerance to stress due to water deficit or drought. Wheat is engineered (transgenic wheat) using bacterial mtlD (mannitol-1-phosphate dehydrogenase) gene that causing mannitol biosynthesis in either cytosol or chloroplasts.
