The Molecular Biology of the Cell, 4th Edition, online FREE!The entire Molecular Biology of the Cell, 4th Edition, which is a completely fantastic book and the standard reference for the subject, is online free at Pubmed!
The only thing it lacks is a convenient index. So I made one. The online version also has ALL the pictures and figures. Since I can't add the HTML as an attachment, I pasted it into this message. NOTE: Direct links to NCBI's Molecular Biology of the Cell have been disabled due NCBI request, however you can still preview some chapters directly on NCBI Have fun! Alberts book, 4th edition, online, for free? I deffinetly owe you one. This book is gold if you want a medal at IBO
"I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
Damn...no wonder the rest of the world is so far ahead of americans in science. There's only one chapter on plants here, but our bio teacher is spending 9 weeks(probably more, he tells us we're moving at a snail's turtle pace) teaching us about plant development....

Then you should definitely browse the bookshelf section of Medline where you will find free of charge many great books, and not only the Alberts. Enjoy Patrick
@Patrick
that is super great! If i only had the time to read them all... @dave Well, your system is based on a need to know principle. Since not everyone there will become a biologist they only teach what is necessary for everyone to know. If you want to study more go to the store, buy books and read them. that's what i do. So far, i have 3 shelves full of bio books, not including campbell and alberts which are on my desk, at the place of honor "I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
