Have you tried Google, Wikipedia, etc?
They can help.....the subject is actually very large :wink:

Viruses are used in gene therapy also, and genetic engeneering

You could have asked something more precise, but to such a question, my only answer is go here, or for more specific question on retrovirus, there.
Those books are free, rather good, and more than just a starter... :twisted:
