The meaning depends on which field the term is. I study Immunobiology and in my field PDB is "Protein Data Bank", a single worldwide repository for the processing and distribution of 3D biological macromolecular structure data.

i totally agrre --> my book 'Biochemistry' by Jeremy M. Berg et al states that the structures of more than 10.000proteins have been elucidated by NMR and X-ray crystallography and that they are stored at the Protein DataBank.
