Real time PCR in detection of Salmonella

Hello,
I would like to know if you have experience with Salmonella detection kit (for real time PCR) from Roche (Lightcycler foodproof Salmonella detection kit) or Bio-rad (iQ-Check Salmonella kit). I have read that this second kit has been approved by AFNOR (Association Française de Normalisation). However, I could not find more information about validation of this method on food and feed matrixes.

I have worked in one of the labs that performed the evaluation for the AFNOR. But I left it and cannot access anymore to the norms.
All details could probably be found in teh AFNOR website if you know according to which norm they have been approved. But you'll have to pay to read it...

I could not have found these information inthe AFNOR website http://www.afnor.fr. However, a great part of this web is in french so i could miss it. Only i could get is a few info from: http://www.food-diagnostics.se/inFocus/iF7.pdf about validation of this method.

The afnor website is available in english here: http://www.afnor.fr/portail.asp?Lang=English A quick search shows that you maybe interested in those standards: NF ISO 21528-1, NF ISO 21528-2
ISO 21528-1:2004, ISO 21528-2:2004, which since they are ISO could be found elsewhere.

As for the validation of a new technique, it is compared with the reference routine technique on a group of diffrent matrices and should not be statisticaly less sensitive than the reference technique. But it can improve the reference technique though.
Basically for a given number of matrices artificially or naturally contaminated at different levels both techniques are performed simultaneously and results are compared. However I do not have the list of the matrices... Sorry.
