Real-time PCR&Reverse transcription PCRSuch as subject ,when we see qRT-PCR,what is the really meaning of "RT"?
What are the difference between them?
Real-time PCR, also known as kinetic PCR, qPCR, qRT-PCR and RT-qPCR, is quantitative PCR method for the determination of cope number of PCR templates such as DNA or cDNA in a PCR reaction. There are two flavors of real-time PCR: probe-based and intercalator-based.
I`m sure you will be interesting to look into this website to learn more about it!Here it is: http://www.protocol-online.org/prot/Mol ... index.html A Strong Man Can Save Himself A Great Man Can Save Another.
To sum everything up, due to the 2 different possible meaning of RT-PCR, people are gradually shifting to q for quantitative, instead of Real-Time. So it becomes clearer to describe what is done:
qPCR: quantification of DNA RT-PCR: amplification of RNA qRT-PCR: quantification of RNA Patrick
