Introducing new forum rank

We are pleased to announced that we have just implemented something that was on the drawing board for a while: the introduction of a new rank.
The rank is named Viper, for "very interesting poster". Users who get this rank have five stars next to their avatar, just as the moderators. The rank is in no way connected with post count: the users are hand picked by the moderators, according to how knowledgeable their posts are - the users awarded this rank have shown proficiency in one or more fields of the life science.
For now, the list of Vipers is:

However, this is not a restricted community. We hope to add many more users to this list.
