Happy New YearModerator: BioTeam Hooray!
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

It's a --ber month again. Three months to go, and it's another new year to start. I can't wait for that one. Right now, I see people getting busy again as early as now preparing for the Christmas and New Year, well for me... no news yet.

How can people be preparing for Christmas now? there is still loads of time

Christmas is so overcommercialized that I think the name should be changed to Greedmas. No one seems to care about Christ anymore, but we all want presents, hence the greed.

The charity shop that I'm a volenteer for have already put out the Christmas cards.
One of the customers said that they'd been to a shop in another town who put their Christmas cards on sale in August! Without science there is nothing.

I've stopped celebrating Christmas in the traditional commercialized way. Instead I am content with a quiet private celebration at home.

Traditions usually alter the true meaning of a thing or an event. It is true that it is not yet appropriate nowadays to spend something (and more) preparing for it. As what Alex said, it is overcommercialized. Well instead of preparing for it early why not--let us all sit and talk for a while, one world, one moment, one Nescafe. (Just kidding) It is quite cold right now for the rain is too heavy and the temperature drops to a significant level. Having something hot during cold days seems alright.
Would it be nice that we send each other Christmas or New Year cards via snail mail? Cards from friends abroad. What do you think of that? ---When reason ends, faith begins---
