AstrobiologyTaken from http://www.wikipedia.com
What do you guys think of this emerging field in Biology. Is their any promising prospects with respects to astrobiology? There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one from so simple a beginning.....The Origin of Species
In Spain there is an important Astrobiology research centre (http://www.cab.inta.es). There, scientists study the origin, presence and influence of life in the Universe and do tests to solve some hypothesis.

well technically right now this field doesn't really have anything to study..
"I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
People who work in this field do tests about how would be life in other planets taking in account their atmosphere, orbit (duration of the day and year), soil conditions, temperature, etc. Also they research how affects the space conditions (ingravity, etc) to certain biomolecules and how would affect to organisms (is important to know the changes in astronauts' homeosthasis). Microorganisms would be the greatest astronauts, don't you think? He he ![]() ![]() ![]()
One thing I find particularly fascinating about astrobiology theory is the hypothesis that life on other planets may have evolved as silicon-based life forms, under higher temperatures.
Great stuff What did the parasitic Candiru fish say when it finally found a host? - - "Urethra!!"
LOL Let's just hope they don't find a niche there There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one from so simple a beginning.....The Origin of Species
Everybody is Excited.......... For that............ Nature Bangs On My Mind
