Drosophila Melanogaster... Help Me OutI have Vestigial, Wild, and Baride.
P1 Generation Crosses VM x WF VM x BF WM x BF WM x VF BM x WF BM x VF I have six crosses. M indicates male and F indicates female. I have no idea what I'm getting for F1. Please help me out...
weird thing that helped me- i used a table in microsoft word
then it made defining the letters soooo much easier
I'm sorry about the late update.
All flies start out as purebred. I've got a problem with BM x WF. Outcomes for F1 should be BM, BF, WM, and WF. However, I only got BM and BF. I thought baride wasn't dominant? It's supposed to be sex-linked. Help!!! By the way, the purpose of my lab is to figure out traits for baride, wild, and vestigial.
if, from a cross between BM and WF you obtained only BM and BF in F1, and you know that the traits are sex-linked, then the normal conclusion is that baride is dominant over the wild type(which is a strange, but not impossible case).
