Making some proteins

Postby victor on Thu May 05, 2005 12:32 pm

This is my second mail since I joined the forum...(I'm a newbie..he2.. ). The question that I want to ask now is about proteins. According to you, is it possible to make some protein chain and transplant it to people?? Because as far as I know that when proteins get into someone's body orally, it will be hydrolysed become many single substances which is called amino-acid. If there's a way to transplant proteines in a whole macromolecules, please inform me....I need this information because I'm trying to make a hypothesis about transplanting an Alpha-chain and Beta-chain which are the keys to cure thallasemians. Thank you.

Yes it is possible. Just think of a diabethic person: he injects insuline into his body. Insuline is a proteic hormon- 51 aminoacids

Proteins

Thalasemia is a hereditery disseases which causing failures in making erythrocites. This kind of condition is caused by the unperfect Alpha-chain protein or beta-chain protein which happens in bone marrow. Is there any inventions about these two chains? or is there any solutions to cure thallasemian beside doing a bone marrow transplant such as Mr.Mystery said: "we can make protein chain which the mechanism is like making insuline chain.
