what are the difference between the various glut?
i know they are found indifferent location and has different affinity to glucose.. what else? and why such difference?

Structure fits function. and function fits need. GLUT1 is in the brain. It is not influenced by insulin, because the brain is privileged when it comes to glucose levels in the body. What would happen if blood would rush into your brain after every meal?
GLUT2 is in the intestinal wall, on the basolateral side. It transports glucose from the enterocytes to the blood. It is influenced by insuline. This is very important because inslulin is secreted after a meal and increases the absorbtion of sugars into the blood.
