Temperate forestsHi. I'm having difficulty understanding why little unaltered temperate forest now exists (compared w/ its natural extent).
And I'm also having trouble understanding what this question is asking - "Grasslands have about half the productivity of tropical rainforests, yet this is achieved with less than a tenth of the biomass (grasslands are more productive per unit of biomass). Suggest how this greater efficiency is achieved."
1- Take a world map, look at the centers of populations, look at the position where you are likely to find temperate forests...
2- Define productivity... Patrick
