need to urinateas the weather here is getting cooler, my late night study patterns are being rudely interrupted by more frequent visits to the bathroom!
why is it when we feel a chill it makes us pee? i have always wondered
If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? If you're young, you shouldn't really have to wake up in the middle of the night to urinate on a regular basis unless you're drinking lots of liquids before going to bed.
If that's not the case, you may want to talk to a doctor. I was wondering about the "it's getting cooler" part until I realized you're from Australia... Obviously, here in the U.S. it's getting warmer... I'm 37 and I'm usually drinking tea until I go to bed and only occasionally do I need to wake up in the middle of the night to urinate. As we get older, it's normal to have to do this more frequently. Anyway, just wondering... Pete
no i dont mind, im 19, but you dont get my question - oh i do drink LOTS of water and usually used to do a lot of holding it in i know thats bad now, but what i mean is when i feel cold, i need to pee more often, and i was wondering why that happens. its less regular in summer,
do u know what i mean i dont think there is anything wrong with me, does that only happen to me? lool especially at night when im up late studying and lets say i get a chill because of some cool air, ----> need to pee thats what i mean not that i wake up to go to the bathroom i hope that clarifies the question, i mean it more generally thanspecifically to me but thanks for your reply
There is a connection. In cases of hypothermia, people will have to urinate from cold diuresis. Vasoconstriction creates greater volume pressure in the blood stream. The kidneys pull off excess fluid to reduce the pressure. A full bladder is a place for additional heat loss so urinating will help conserve heat.
Sorry Nugget, this does not happen to me, as far as I know. I've never noticed a need to urinate more frequently in the cold, nor has being exposed to the cold suddenly instilled the need to urinate. Again, not that I've noticed. It might have happened and I simply didn't realize it. I'll try to remember to pay attention next time it gets cold around here. That doesn't happen very often. I live in the Southern U.S. We have scorching summers and very mild winters...
The 2 reasons I can think of:
Reason 1: Your metabolism speeds up to produce more energy to heat the body, so more filtration and more urine. Reason2: You feel you need to urinate more often because at cold wheather your muscles contract. So you feel you need to. It matters not how strait the gate
How charged with punishment the scroll I am the Master of my fate I am the Captain of my soul.
Thats so interesting i knew it was something to do with conserving heat, but i was unsure.
it can get annoying though hey ?lol btw it doesnt get very cold here either we just arent as well equipped as cold countries are for heat so we feel it more inside the house hehe cheeeeerio
