EcotourismHi, Im studying zoology and have to write an essay on 'the pros and cons of tropical marine ecotourism'. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about it or where to get some good info
What's ecotourism? Are you talking about touring an area in order to learn about its environment/ecology?
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

Ecotourism mainly focuses on
Minimize impact Build environmental and cultural awareness and respect Provide positive experiences for both visitors and hosts Provide direct financial benefits for conservation Provide financial benefits and empowerment for local people Raise sensitivity to host countries' political, environmental, and social climate Support international human rights and labor agreements For many countries, ecotourism is not so much seen as a marginal activity intended to finance protection of the environment than as a major sector of national economy and as a means of attracting tourists. For example, in countries such as Kenya, Ecuador, Nepal, Costa Rica and Madagascar, ecotourism represents a significant portion of the gross domestic product.Guess what Kenya most important income is agriculture first then tourism.
