bile becomes yellow due to the digestive process in which it paticipates.
so, if green stools r produced, the green is the bile & it shows that there is something wrong in the digestion.

but, my question is why is it green in the first place ?
v had this q in a exam & none knew the answer

one net srch told me that its color was due to the fact that bile is pproduced by the breakdown of haemoglobin.
is that right ?

Well...the bilirubin gives it a yelllow color. Bilirubin is the main bile product and it's caused by the breakdown of hemoglobin (via the liver) but bile is also made up of water, cholesterol, bile salts, electrolytes and phospholipids.

The blue-green color comes from billiverdin, which will be reduced to billirubin that generates red-yellow color
