oranges, no seeds.i just ate a seedless orange. how do they continue to hybrid breed them without seeds?
I imagine that itd require a mixture between two different varities of the same orange. Then that orange would be sterile and when u plant the seeds of this hybrid the seeds are underdeveloped. This all leads ultimately to GMO's ....another reason why a banana at the grocery store doesnt contain seeds.
Correct. What is normally done is that the seeds of seeded fruit is genetically altered to produce seedless crop. After this crop grows, another seeded crop must be altered to produce a second seeded crop.
can't they reproduce vegetatively? I know bananas can, because the reason they don't have any seeds is not the work of some genetics geek, it's because they are triploid.
