carnivorous plants

im interested i raising some meat eating plants, but i dont know where to pick them up. do you need to go to a specialty flower shop? also, what climate do they need to survive?

try ordering them off ebay, they require damp soil

How does the plant's digestive juices not digest itself? Is it becuase of mucus just like the stomach?

Hm.. I don't think so... the digestive juice of the plant contains only proteolitic enzymes. The plant cells are protected by the sugarry cell wall.. I think that's the reason

Not really. The mechanism is very simple. Dionea muscipula simply removes water from it's cells rapidilly, which causes it to close ...

I don't think so, plants , just like animals, are intelligent organisms.Pro ANTHONY TREWAVAS had given us a wonderful review paper titled'Aspects of Plant Intelligence'Annals of Botany 92: 1-20, 2003
