Sand is SiO2 (as mithrilhack pointed out).. regarding it's chemical proprties, well, it is acidic ie. it reacts with alkali to form silicate (SiO3 2-). It has a macromolecular stucture which means that it has a very high melting point. But why might I ask would you want to use it in connection with catalase and H2O2??? Is it some experiment about enzymes??
