immediate: Rate of photosynthesis - measurement?

Postby kerrysan on Wed Aug 24, 2005 11:20 am

im doing a prac writeup on the rate of photosynthesis relative to wavelength of light and just realised that i dont know what the measurement is.

like say the rate of evaporation can be, i dont know, 5mls per minute

what measurement do i put with photosynthesis? is there a measurement or do i just include seconds and ignore the rest???

-need immediate help
thanks.

There is no actual measurment for photosynthesis but most authors measure it by the quantity of fructoso-6-phosphate(the first photosynthesis product) produced/time unit. This can afterwards be turned into sucrose or starch.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but intensity of light is usually measured in candelas
