How to culture Cyanobacteria?Hey there,
For my school project I am recieving a culture of Cyanobacteria (Anabaena), I am planning on varying the levels of nitrates in the water of the bacteria to determine at what concentration of enviromental nitrates do Heterocysts form, however I do not know what kind of water the cyanobacteria like, could anyone please help? They are widespread in freshwater and also in damp soil. Certain species are symbionts in higher plants, e.g. Anabaena azollae in species of Water Fern (Azolla).
