The hormone istself is the active component  Since it is a steroid, the main structure or the core is cyclopentana perhydrophenantren (I hope I write it correctly).

Estrogen has a wide effect to female body, especially the secondary characteristics. It also affects in estrus cycle, during delivery process, and mental-emotional balance.

It is also a protein anabolisant, and in some books it says it lowers glucose concentration in the blood. However this does not make sense to me..

I've read in recent experiment...estrogen level must be maintained in certain level..if not, they'll become..IMMSMR..a highly free-radical substance...
The 2nd thing that I've just known is...we [men] also have estrogen and the food that is wrapped by plastic (made out by similar substances as estrogen) can raise the amount of estrogen in our body...when estrogen in men's body is excess.....you know the result....

Yes, that is true. The testicle secrets low quantities of estrogen just like the ovary secrets low quantities of testosterone. and let's not forget the corticoadrenal gland secrets them all, including progesterone..

Oh, one more...the level of those two sex hormones determine your moustache....ever see women with a very thin moustache?? that's because testoterone, but the controlling factor makes the moustache consists of Vellus (smoothe tiny hairs) while men's are germinal hairs (the rough one).....
