One thing that birds have that mammals don't have is DNA in their red blood cells. This means that birds probably do have on average more DNA (in weigth that is) than mammals do :)

But, a human (or most other mammals) is a lot bigger than a bird. :idea:

I should have mentioned my estimate is based on DNA per kg of body weight. The difference is probably even more than this because birds have much lighter skeletons than mammals do at the same body weight.

That is it if you take into consideration the whole number of DNA in the animal. Generally the length of the DNA molecule is used when you say more or less DNA
