Concentration gradientHey guys, i feel super dumb because science was never my strong suit! I took College Prep Biology. Mid-Terms are coming up fast. I have a study guide but I need some help!
Define concentration gradient. Explain its effect on the rate of diffusion.
I don't remember exactly but it concerns how much a solute is concentrated on one side of the cell membrane. For example, if there's a high concentration of sodium inside the cell than outside the cell, the salt would diffuse out. And of course a higher concentration gradiant (difference between outside and inside) would cause a directly increase in rate of diffusion.
