An odd question

Postby Wilddwarf » Mon Aug 24, 2009 4:50 am

I am making a monster manual of sorts for my tabletop roleplaying game. Naturally, this has led to questions that cannot be answered by the typical person. I am very detailed and sometimes loath to answer questions with "because it's magic". What I currently need to know is if it is possible for a creature to have claws so sharp that they do not retain blood. What I mean by "retain" is whether the blood the creature draws could simply slide off. So, is it possible?
Genetics is like doing chemistry with unlabled ingredients. You don't know exactly what you're mixing, so you don't know what you'll end up with.

Nothing to do a bout being sharp, all about hydrophobic coating of the claws. If they were made in Teflon, the blood would simply slide off without wetting the surface. And claws are usually made of proteins, and they can be hydrophobic, so yes you could imagine something like that

Thank you. You can expect many more strange questions to come.
