some general capsid questionsWhat kind of proteins are the capsid shells made of?
Will a collection of capsid proteins in soln' generally form an icosahedral (or other geometric shape, depending on protein..) shape; Will they from encapsulating shapes on their own? can capsid shells be manufactured?
Yes capsid proteins can self asemble in solution.
I am not sure what you mean by manufactured, but the genes can be cloned in plasmids, and protein can be synthesized without anything else from plamids. Patrick

Re:
Re self assembly: do you have any source material handy, something I can look at that might explain the nuts and bolts?
