- what is mRNA's??? If DNA is T A C G A G A G C A T A A T C mRNA is? Amino Acid is? Im lost.
Re: HELP ME PLEASEEE - DNA SequencesmRNA is a messenger RNA (Ribous Nucleic Acid) molecule, it defers from DNA by being much less stable and having the base Uracil instead of Thymine . mRNA is created inside the nucleus of the cell during the process of TRANSCRITION, that is when DNA unravels at any point of interest and certain enzymes make a copy of the given sequence of bases. Bases of DNA are A-T and C-G,meaning A is always connected to a T and so on, but as the DNA is unraveled there is only one strand to be copied, so that is where your sequence come in T A C G A T G G C G T G A G C A C T, these are bases on one strand of DNA, so to make a copy of this sequence mRNA is created, pairing with each base, but instead of pairing A-T it is A-U in RNA so:
DNA strand: T A C G A T G G C G T G A G C A C T mRNA strand: A U G C U A C C G C A C U C G U G A Once the mRNA molecule is created and goes through some trimming, in leaves the nucleus and travels into the cytoplasm of the cell. This is where the mRNA encounters ribosomes and TRANSLATION of the message occurs. Ribosomes are like Chefs, they cook whatever the recipe tells them to cook, and the mRNA is the recipe. The ingredients of theses ribosomes are amino acids, there are 20 amino acids in all life. And the variant combination of the amino acids creates the infinite number of proteins that make up life. There is a basic dictionary for the amino acid and dna sequence. 3 bases from mRNA code for one Amino Acid (AA), You have to start reading these bases from the 5' to the 3' end (left to right). So in A U G C U A C C G C A C U C G U G A, the first 3 are A U G, these code for Isolucine, the next C U A code for Lucine. And so on. You can find the AMINO ACID DICTIONARY ON LINE. GOOD LUCK
