multiple choice question.Which statement is correct
A. Transversions are 5x more frequent than transitions B. Transitions are 10x more frequent than transversions in mtDNA C. The nuclear genome evolves more rapidly than the mitochondrial genome in primates D. Transitions and transversions only occur in the nuclear genome E. The silent substitution rate is 4 to 6 times lower than the replacement rate I am not sure about this. I have read that transition occurs more often than transversions.
either B or E... Don't really know any numerical data. this is such a "let's cram some numerical data that we won't remember anyway" question.
