Acetone Effect on Cell MembraneHow does acetone effect the cell membrane?
I know that it affects the phospholipidbilayer, but I'm not sure how it affects it.
hint: stability of the membrane is due to favorable hydrophobic interactions and unfavorable hydrophilic interactions

Re: Acetone Effect on Cell MembraneSo then acetone alters interactions between water and the phospholipid bilayer? But how does it do this?
I think if you're adding enough acetone to the affect it, then you should probably regard it as a cell in acetone rather than a cell in water.
