Acetone Effect on Cell Membrane

How does acetone effect the cell membrane?

I know that it affects the phospholipidbilayer, but I'm not sure how it affects it.

So then acetone alters interactions between water and the phospholipid bilayer? But how does it do this?

I think if you're adding enough acetone to the affect it, then you should probably regard it as a cell in acetone rather than a cell in water.
