dragonfly with wide blue abdomen.It's not a green darner. What is it? I've seen these around here for years, but I can't identify them. They are a large dragonfly with wide powder-blue abdomen, much wider than the green darners'. I regret there is no photo.

Re: dragonfly with wide blue abdomen.This seems to be a close match if it isn't the exact species. But I'm seeing the dragonfly I'm talking about in Michigan, the United States! So this is an English native, am I right?

Re: dragonfly with wide blue abdomen.There is the Whitetail which actually has a light blue abdomen and it is native to the US. Yes, the Skimmer is found in the UK. I was not sure where you were from.
