drosophila lines with large inversions in one or more chromosomes are often used in maintaining laboratory stocks because of which of the following reasons?
a)inversion maximize the process of chromosome pairing within and near the inversion
b)inversions in the male inhibit fertilization of non inversion containing females.
C)inversions heterozygotes usually yield inviable gametes or zygotes when crossing over occurs within the inversion.
E)inversion heterozygotes produce a greater number of recombinant offspring.

Chromosomes with inversions are used to minimize recombination. Therefore, a and e are incorrect and b is irrelevant...
