Syntaxin 3

Does anybody knows something about syntaxin 3 being cleaved? I heard that it gets cleaved and the N-terminal fragment binds to RanBP5 which mediates the targeting to the nucleus. Is that true?

No. But in another forum someone wrote this:

*I heard this from my supervisor that there is group working on this. It is pretty amazing that a molecule involved in vesicle fusion can act as signaling molecule. But I don't know much about this. But I think he also mentioned the RanBP5. So far I know there is only a cleavage site in syntaxin 3 which is missing in the other syntaxins. I searched for this information and I found something that syntaxin 3 is involved in polarizing. Maybe this cleavage product is involved in this as a signaling molecule.*

That is what I was asking. I also heard this and just wanted to confirm the information. I heard that syntaxin3 gets cleaved and that the cleavage product the N-terminal helical domain then can strongly interact with RanBP5. I am just wondering if someone knows more about this. Or also heard about this.
