Human Systems? Help please...?!!Hi, i hope someone can help clarify this for me. I have some work to do on how the different systems work etc, but is it correct to say that the systems sometimes need another organ from another system to ba able to do the required job? For example, blood suagr levels, to maintain the safe levels, sometimes the liver cells are required to change glycogen into glucose and vise versa, and the liver is in the digestive system, where as the pancreas, whose job it is to maintain the levels, is in the endocrine system? I AM SO CONFUSED as this is something not even mentioned in class yet and i am wondering if i am getting this all wrong and mixed up or maybe i am right? ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED.
thanks xxx
The pancreas is also in the digestive system. The organs do not "belong" to systems. The sytems are just a conceptual way of grouping a specific combo of organs.

It is better to say "organs have more than one functions in the systems" rather than "a system needs organ(s) from another system". Yes, I am agree with mith.
Your room has a door, doesn't mean that the door belongs to your room. Your sister's room needs a door too. If your room and your sister's room is side by side divided by a wall, which only has a door, so who owns the door? Nobody. The door functions to you both so you can enter your sister's room, vice versa. I hope this helps you to understand the coordination of body system... or it makes you confused? sorry
In fact, most organs have more than one function: the pancreas secrets both enzymes and hormones, the heart pumps blood and secrets a hormone(that I know of, probably more), bones keep you up straight and produce blood cells, intestine helps in digestion and immunity etc...
