Re: Biblical Accuracy??i have heard of that before, but it doesnt take in to account environmental factors that could erode the rocks making their dating look older. also the original 14C levels can vary when the rocks are made. rocks that were recently formed have been dated as much as 0.5 and 2.8 million years. i still want to read more about that cuz there is alot of controversy about the study, of course.

Re: Biblical Accuracy??I am fairly certain that isotopes other than carbon are used to date the age of the Earth.
Listen Flynvfae, if you want to believe something then you can. For instance, men and women have been known to ignore all the evidence that their spouses are cheating on them. And they concoct plausible sounding explanations for why their spouses are behaving the way they do. It's called denial. And young Earth creationists excell at concocting semi-plausible explanations to continue in their denial. I sincerely wish you the best in your effort to find understanding Flynvfae. But I know from experience that this means that your previous ideas about things are going to be shattered. I once understood things in a certain way, and now I understand them in a new way. I learned, and learning can sometimes be a painful experience. True greatness consists in the use of a powerful understanding to enlighten oneself and others. -Voltaire
Of course read more about it, Carbon dating is only for living stuff anyway. You use uranium for example to date rocks that are older.
A recent article talked about the depletion of helium from earth. It might interest you to know that helium is pretty much only generated when radioactive isotopes decay. Read up on the half lives of the isotopes(they are in the millions of years range). Living one day at a time;

im going to research this like crazy. My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind~Einstein
