Bacteria...Hi i wanted to know why its so important for bacteria to have a phosphate source? i mean what would happen if they didn't have one? could'nt they use any other alternatives?
Because they cannot do transmutation of atoms
There might be bacteria able to work from elemntal phosphorus, but most of them need the phosphate to grow. Patrick
