Plasmid Isolation From VibrioHello. How can I isolate plasmid DNA from Vibrio strains??
Many DNA purification kits will collect plasmid DNA and avoid genomic DNA, provided you have a good lysis protocol. Just like described here: http://www.msk.or.kr/jsp/view_old_journ ... erSeq=2543

Re: Plasmid Isolation From VibrioDear Canalon
Yes, I've tried these protocols, but they didn't give me results. This means that my strain doesn't have a plasmid? It appears to carry Kanamycin resistance. Can this characteristic be a chromosomic one?
This cannot be excluded, and if you look at D. Mazel work on Vibrio spp. superintegrons, it becomes even more likely. But having a control, i.e. a Vibrio strain with a known plasmid, would allow you to check your protocol.
