medicines compendium

Postby jackson6612 on Wed Nov 07, 2007 6:48 pm

It is said that a butcher becomes a professional butcher only by practicing. The same can be said about some doctors who I know about, who would charge you bucks just for checking your nerve and prescribing some memorized medicines. Those doctors most of time learn the names of those medicines through the medical representative sens by pharmaceutical companies. Each medicine has a generic name. Like generic name for Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid and Aspirin is trade name used by German pharmaceutical company Bayer.

Then, isn't it helpful to have medicines compendium or some similar book which can be used to find out information about medicine for general medicine? I know in severe cases of illness one must try to find a good doctor instead of searching some electronic medicines compendium to prescribe medicine for oneself.
