E-PCR confusionHi Everyone,
I'm really confused by E-PCR. I know the database uses STS sites to orient the gene on the genetic map but have no idea how this is useful in E-PCR. The second thing is the hits from E-PCR they show Genomic, mRNA, EST's. Whats the difference in all of them?

As I understand it, this is a way to match up potential genes you've identified in some way with known and mapped tagged sequences in a particular genome. The genomic sequence would refer to the DNA sequence, which may or may not (probably won't) be contiguous relative to its mRNA. The mRNA corresponds to the spliced message and will be a contiguous sequence. The EST is the original tagged sequence.
