Is ampicillin dangerous or corrosive for plants?
For example can I use it in growing medium for plants?

Ampicillin is beta-lactam antibiotic, inhibiting bacterial transpetidase, which cross-links peptidoglican chains. If chains cannot be cross-linked, the whole structure of peptidoglycan weakens and finally cell collapses due to osmotic pressure.

Plant cell doesn't have peptidoglycan, but it posseses cellulose wall. Cellulose is synthesized by plant cellulase enzyme complex, which is mostly unstudied.

I suppose ampicilin will not interfere with plant wall synthesis. I think plant cell will tolarate ampicilin in medium.
