can you live off guinness? seriously, i heard somewhere you could, with the addition of a glass of orange juice per day for certain vitamins.

in short, no

our bodies keep certain stores of vitamins minerals and nutrients, they only last so long. Im sure you could last a long time on guiness before you develop some kind of deficiency leading to anemia and then eventually shock. (just my theory) - i assume thats why dietritians emphasis on a 'balanced diet'

I very much doubt it, as like D_J said you need a balanced diet.
Even if you could, you'd be incredibly drunk all the time. :o

Guiness is a Brand name of one of the most famous irish beer. It is a dark beer (almost black) which is said to be very rich in nutrient. But as D_juggz and chris4 Pointed out I very much doubt that it would be healthy to live of it. Even though at one time it was said that a pint (454 ml) of the stuff was worth a steack. At least you wouldn't be as drunk as Chris4 says so. 8)

I would just like to point out that guiness is high in iron content, being a dark beer, so you most certainly wouldn't suffer from anemia due to iron deficency ;) Guinness only has 125 calories per beer, so its reasonable to imagine consuming 20 of these a day to get the vitamins you need, from research I believe that you also need to consumer a few glasses of milk and orange juice to complete your balanced diet in this manner, but it is possible.

However, it may take several months for your body to adjust to the insanely increased levels of alcohol in your bloodstream (consuming 20-30 beers every single day) and I'd imagine that your liver would be the first to go.
