glowing tobacco plant :idea:Hi every body knows how did they make the glowing tobacco plant? Witch genes did they used?
How hard would this be to do?
and how would you do it? Bombard Tobacco seeds with Luciferase or something?
I would like to know if it could be possible for the home armature biologist to be able to do this!
could you imagine this stuff in your garden! you would be on the news! haha or arrested
No chance mate its very difficult. i had a go and left with a £700 hole in my pocket but no luck. It definitely requires a lab and expensive materials . And its illegal in UK. And I’m sure you need a permit in other countries.
Yeah another thing is how is it illegal?
Is it because they're afraid you would make an evil bacteria or something that could kill everybody.. or for some other reason? i dont really get it Wouldn't it be neat to have a lawn full of glowing grass?
Any GM plants should be under close scrutiny...lets say you were developing pesticide resistance for example, cross contamination would be a big worry.
