Material and Method

- Retrospective review and systematic study of mammary tumors in dogs and characteristics of the extracellular matrix

Blocks and slides with benign and malignant tumors of dogs were used in this trial. A total of 578 cases from the records in the Animal Pathology Sector at the Pathology Department in Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia / USP, from 1936 to 1999 were analyzed. Cuts were obtained from the blocks and were 5 mm thick. They were stained by hematoxilyn and eosin for the identification of the histological types.
